The Moab Trails Alliance is a non-profit group of concerned citizens who believe that Moab would benefit from a more comprehensive trail system better suited for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Because many of our existing trails were originally created for motorized travel, Moab is severely lacking in singletrack opportunities that are the main attraction for many outdoor entusiasts.

Current Projects

  1. Obtaining matching funds for the non-motorized pedestrian bridge across the Colorado River at Lion's Park trail hub
  2. Reroute of the Moonlight Meadows singletrack in the La Sal Mountains
  3. Designing a stacked loop singletrack park in the La Sal Mountains
Identifying and designing singletrack opportunities adjacent to the City of Moab
  4. Expanding the Fisher Mesa trail system
  5. Expanding the Sovereign Trail system
  6. Developing a non-motorized singletrack in the Klondike Bluffs area
  7. Negotiating easements on SITLA properties adjacent to the City of Moab
  8. Installing additional information and signage in problem areas of our current trail system
  9. Identifying and obtaining non-motorized status for areas adjacent to residential communities
  10. Identifying and obtaining non-motorized status for appropriate areas in the greater Grand County area
